Well there are a few programs that you should know about, for everyday use:

  • Calculator
  • TextEdit
  • Stickies
  • Photo Booth

The calculator program allows users to perform simple, complex, and logical operations.

It has basic, programmer, and scientific modes and even allows you to print out all of your work.

Common conversions are also possible with this easy to use calculator.

TextEdit is just a simple word-processor that is comparable to notepad on a Windows computer.

It has the ability to

  • Check spelling and grammar
  • Create lists and tables
  • Insert graphics

You can even save your document in a number of formats, including Microsoft Word.

Stickies are just what they sounds like!

And boy do they come in handy. Instead of writing down something on a sticky note and wasting paper, you can just use your computer!

Make a list or just type out that number that you need really quick.

You can even change the color, font or size of the text.

Finally we have Photo Booth, which is a really neat program.

Photo Booth allows you to take pictures or videos using your Macs built in camera.
